Maria W Horn
Maria W Horn is an artist and composer hailing from Stockholm. Having earned a Master Degree in Electroacoustic Compositions from The Royal College of Music in Stockholm, her compositions engage and merge the organic acoustic world with the synthetic and electronic worlds. Acoustic instruments are often paired with digital synthesis techniques, in order to extend the instruments timbral capacities.
Maria works with varied instrumentation sources ranging from analog synthesisers to choir & string ensembles, pipe organs and various chamber music instruments. Often based on minimalist structures, her music explores the inherent spectral properties of sound and their ability to transcend time and space, reality and dream.
